Snow Melt Systems
Retire your snow shovel and snow blower for good!
A great alternative to snow removal during the cold winter months is a snowmelt system.
The most common applications for a snowmelt system are: driveways, walkways, parking areas and stairways. Installing is done during the construction stage where tubing is run under the driveway and other areas you require heat.
Heated water mixed with anti-freeze (glycol) is pumped through the underground tubing. Heat radiates from the tubing to the surface of your driveway causing the snow and ice to melt.
A snowmelt system may extend the life of the concrete or asphalt by eliminating the use of harsh salts and chemicals.
Most snowmelt systems operate in conjunction with an automatic activation device that will trigger the system on when it senses precipitation and freezing temperatures. These types of devices ensure the system is only on during useful periods and eliminates wasteful energy consumption.
- Reduces accidents
- Environmentally friendly compared to the use of salt and chemicals
- Eliminates shoveling or plowing
- Extends the life of driveways and sidewalks
